Items in crafting interface disappearing

At the time of this post, I've just lost 49 lapis blocks to an annoying glitch where the crafting bench interface will close without warning, deleting all the items present in it and the player's hand. This is not the first time I've had this happen to me. Before I just lost a few reeds or books while crafting bookshelves and I just figured it would go away in an update.

This has happened to me, as well.
In both cases, I either typed in "/hero restore", or walked around a bit, and ghe items seemed to just come back.
Give bith a shot and let me know if anything happens.

There isn't a "/hero restore" command and walking didn't solve the problem.

"/hero recover"

That command doesn't exist either. The only Heroes command that has an 'R' is "/hero reset" and I'm not touching it.

No no no, don't touch that one.
I'll have to look into it, and in the meantime I'll see what I can do about getting the items back.
